Through our portfolio investments we indirectly support in excess of 10,000 employees, their families and communities. We believe that nurturing a healthy dynamic within a company’s ecosystem ultimately leads to a more sustainable and valuable company on exit.

 

As responsible and passionate South Africans we are acutely aware of the impact that a corporate has on its partners and stakeholders. This includes customers, suppliers, employees, regulators and the communities they touch. In the South African context this is especially relevant in empowering disadvantaged individuals and communities.

In a challenging environment, it means supporting smaller suppliers and customers with their cash flow. For example, with Tracker, we funded and mentored ACI entrepreneurs to start fitment centres of their own. Vox Telecom has a well-developed programme to support business owners as resellers of their products. 

Shared value is about treating all partners with respect. From being empathetic to their point of view to behaving ethically and honestly in all interactions. We believe that our portfolio companies should embrace these principles which is why we spend time with management teams focusing on extracting mutual benefits for all partners.
