Velli is a qualified CA(SA) and CAIA Level I. He graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting in 2010 and an Honours in Accounting in 2011.

Post his studies, Velli completed his articles at Ernst and Young. He then joined Rothschild & Co in 2015 where he was involved in a number of financial advisory transactions including blue-chip B-BBEE transactions, cross-border M&A, Restructuring and Debt. In 2019 Velli moved to Private Equity and joined Ethos for a period of 3 years to focus on deal origination, due diligence, execution and monitoring of private equity investments.
