Andrew Aitken

Andrew graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 1996 with a BComm, Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting. He is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and a CFA Charter holder.

Andrew has spent 14 years at RMB, focusing on the South African, US, UK and European leveraged finance markets. He has spent the last nine years at RMB Ventures and has been involved in both the origination and exit of a number of transactions. Andrew is the Co-Head of RMB Ventures and serves on the RMB FRM Board. He is also a member of the RMB Investment Committee and the FNB Commercial Mezzanine Committee.

   
Cassim Motala

Cassim holds an MBA and an Associate in Management qualification from the University of Cape Town (UCT). He joined RMB through the Class Of Programme in 2007. He spent seven years in a successful Internet gaming start-up business, working his way up into general management. He later bought into and joined a wheel and tyre distribution and retail business, before exiting and joining RMB. Cassim is the Co-Head of RMB Ventures and serves on the RMB Management Board.

   
Eutychus Mbuthia

Eutychus graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nairobi (Kenya) and subsequently joined PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Eutychus completed his MBA studies at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in 2000 and, the same year joined RMB as a Private Equity Transactor.

He has extensive experience across all aspects of private equity from origination to exits. In 2009 Eutychus was appointed Co-Head of RMB Ventures and he has since 2010 been a member of the RMB Management Board. Eutychus has since stepped down as Co-Head but continues to work as Senior Transactor in the RMB Ventures team.

   
Dwight Snyman

Dwight holds an M.Eng (Civil) from Stellenbosch University (SU). He has been at RMB since 2001, initially applying a combination of extensive project finance and private equity skills to start up the Project Equity area. He then started and headed up RMB’s then fledgling structured trade and commodity finance area. This business today boasts a book of well in excess of ZAR10-bn. He has served on a number of divisional Exco and credit committees. Dwight joined the RMB Ventures team in 2010.

Before joining RMB he worked at the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa and private equity areas of FirstCorp Merchant Bank, where he held several board seats.

   
Amina Pahad

Amina Pahad, a CFA Charter holder, graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) with a BComm in 2002. After her studies she worked for JP Morgan’s Corporate Finance team for three years. She joined the RMB Ventures team in 2006 and has since been involved in transactions spanning various sectors. She has served on a number of the boards of RMB Ventures’ invested companies.

   
Muhammed Moosa

Muhammed holds BSc (Hons) (Finance) and BComm (Hons) (Accounting) degrees from the Universities of Cape Town (UCT) and Natal, and is a Chartered Accounted (SA).

After serving articles with PwC in South Africa, he worked in PwC’s Corporate Finance Advisory business in London for three years, gaining broad experience in M&A and general corporate finance. After returning to South Africa in 2010 Muhammed joined RMB, where he worked in the Principal Investments business for two years before joining RMB Ventures.

   
Mbongeni Madonsela

Mbongeni, CA(SA), completed his training with PwC Johannesburg in 2007 and then joined their New York office for six months. He joined Brait in 2008 and was involved in portfolio management and deal execution. Mbongeni worked on transactions in the food, packaging and technology sectors, and was involved with portfolio companies in the retail, media, construction materials and glass manufacturing sectors. He joined RMB Ventures in February 2012.

   
Ewan Gray

Ewan, a CA(SA), graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2006 with an Honours in Accountancy. In 2010 he completed his training articles at KPMG in Cape Town. Post articles Ewan joined Standard Bank in Johannesburg on their Flagship programme, a strategic leadership programme for newly qualified CAs. In 2011 he joined Rand Merchant Bank in their Global Markets division focusing on emerging markets credit risk, specifically African commercial and developmental financial institutions. He joined RMB Ventures in 2013.

   
Sherwin Jagarnath

Sherwin, a CFA Charter holder and certified FRM, graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a B.Bus.Sc (Bachelor of Business Science - Finance Hons) degree. He joined RMB in 2008 as part of the RMB Graduate Programme and a year later joined the Financial Institutions credit team where he gained broad experience in financial institution sectors. During this time he worked on various structured products and leveraged finance deals. He joined RMB Ventures in 2013.

   
Pearl Tsotetsi

Pearl, a CA(SA), holds a Bachelor of Business Science Finance (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Town. Pearl completed her articles at PwC in 2010 after which she joined their Chicago office for six months. Upon returning to South Africa, Pearl joined the Transaction Advisory business of PwC focusing on company valuations. Pearl joined RMB Corporate Finance in 2011 and spent two and a half years gaining experience in general corporate finance and M&A advisory across various industries. She joined RMB Ventures in 2014.
